The Running Game Strategy

The goal of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your checkers into your home board and pull them off as quick as you could. This plan concentrates on the pace of shifting your chips with no efforts to hit or stop your competitor’s checkers. The ideal scenario to employ this plan is when you think you might be able to shift your own chips a lot faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your competitor’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking technique.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The main aim of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to block the competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not fretting about moving your checkers quickly. Once you have created the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other chips rapidly off the game board. You will need to also have a clear strategy when to back off and shift the pieces that you used for blocking. The game becomes interesting when your competitor uses the same blocking tactic.
